UPDATE
JUNE 2026

JUNE MINISTRY UPDATE: PREACHING, TRAINING & SENDING
June was one of our most impactful months yet! God gave us opportunities to preach, train, send mission teams, develop new resources, and invest in students here in Oklahoma and around the country. It was a month full of travel, planning, leadership training, and Gospel ministry as we worked to make the greatest Kingdom impact possible. None of this happens without faithful people like you praying, giving, encouraging, and believing in what God is doing through GoodNews Journey. Thank you for being part of the journey with us!
🏔️ SUMMIT CAMP
The month began with the privilege of serving as camp pastor for Summit Camp at Kiamichi Baptist Assembly in Talihina, Oklahoma. During the week the theme was Brave, and I preached nine messages to nearly 800 students and leaders, leading them through a discipleship journey that challenged them to trust Christ, grow in their faith, share the Gospel, obey God’s calling, and faithfully follow Him. God worked in an incredible way as many students trusted Christ and many others made important spiritual decisions. I’m so thankful to Jeremy and Tamara Simpson for the invitation.
🏕️ GRAND LAKES ASSEMBLY
Later in June I served as camp speaker at Grand Lake Assembly Youth Camp. Around 300 students from nearly 20 churches gathered as we walked through our Made for More series, discovering that God created us to know Him, worship Him, follow Him, share Him, and live for eternity. God moved in a powerful way as around 20 students trusted Christ, with many others making life-changing commitments. Thank you to Brooks Stotts for the opportunity to be part of such an incredible week.
🧰 CIMARRON BAPTIST YOUTH CAMP
I also had the opportunity to lead an evangelism training at Cimarron Baptist Youth Camp near Stillwater. It was encouraging to see attendance more than double from last year and hear students share how God has continued working in their lives. Appreciate the invite back from Michael Jones!
🫎 ALASKA 1
One of the highlights of the month was sending and welcoming home our first Alaska mission team. The team partnered with Fields of Alaska, sharing the Gospel through baseball outreach, children’s ministry, evangelism, and practical service projects while encouraging local believers and building relationships throughout the community. We’re especially thankful for Andrew Riddle (Coordinator) and Brian Williams (Field Representative) for their outstanding leadership. We’re grateful to Derek McMurtry for connecting us to Alaska and working alongside us!
🏙️ DENVER
Our Denver team partnered with a brand-new church plant (Harvest Ridge Church), serving the community through outreach events, practical service projects, prayer, and Gospel conversations. Every opportunity focused on building relationships, strengthening the local church, and pointing people to Jesus. We’re grateful to Tony Butler (Coordinator) and Mac Matthews (Field Representative) for helping make this project such a success. Thanks for connecting us Jason Lamb!
🌍 TRAINING PEOPLE TO MAKE DISCIPLES
One of the biggest projects this month was completing The Missionary Task. After learning this framework through the International Mission Board, I customized it into an interactive training guide for GoodNews Journey mission teams. It helps participants see that missions is about more than completing projects. Every act of service is an opportunity to point people to Jesus and help make disciples. We also spent many hours meeting online with coordinators, field representatives, and mission teams to prepare projects for maximum Kingdom impact.
🏛️ JUVENILE CENTER MINISTRY
Our weekly ministry at the Juvenile Center continues to be one of the highlights of every month. Most weeks the students are eager to hear God’s Word and ask thoughtful questions. This month we also encountered a few students who openly rejected the message. It was a reminder that God calls us to be faithful, not simply successful. Some will receive the Gospel and others will reject it, but our responsibility is to lovingly share the truth and trust God with the results.
⛪ CHOCTAW ROAD
Student ministry at Choctaw Road has been moving at full speed as we prepare for a busy July. We’re getting ready to take nearly 175 high school students to Falls Creek, along with another large group attending middle school camp (Camp Edge). Our summer interns have also been serving in our Missions Ministry throughout Oklahoma City through Terrific Tuesday Bible Adventures, Holy Hot Dogs, Least of These Ministry, and other local outreach opportunities, learning that missions begins right where you live.
🤝 BEHIND THE SCENES
While much of ministry happens in front of people, countless hours happen behind the scenes. Candace has been working tirelessly as our Ministry Support Coordinator, handling registrations, flights, transportation, communication, mission logistics, apparel, and countless other details that keep everything moving smoothly. We truly couldn’t do everything God has called us to do without her faithful leadership and servant’s heart.
We’re especially thankful for our partnership with Mobile Missions Network, whose administrative support allows us to focus on leading, equipping, and caring for our mission teams. Together we’re helping more people get to the mission field and make a greater Kingdom impact.
✈️ LOOKING AHEAD
The summer is far from over! In July we’ll be sending two mission teams to Portugal, another team to Alaska, and I’ll also have the privilege of serving on a mission trip to Kenya with Choctaw Road. Then in early September we’ll lead a mission trip to Guatemala, and we still have a few openings if you’d like to join us! We’re also actively planning future mission opportunities in Mexico and Santa Cruz, California. If you or your church would like to serve on a future mission trip, we’d love to connect with you!
❤️ THANK YOU
As we look back on June, we’re overwhelmed by God’s goodness. Between the two youth camps alone, we saw around 40 professions of faith, along with many other spiritual decisions. Mission teams were sent, churches were strengthened, believers were equipped, local ministries were encouraged, and countless seeds of the Gospel were planted.
Thank you for praying for us, encouraging us, and investing financially in this ministry. Every sermon preached, every student discipled, every mission team sent, every leader trained, and every Gospel conversation is something we’re doing together. Your partnership allows us to maximize every opportunity God places before us, and we’re incredibly grateful.

MAY 2026

MAY MINISTRY UPDATE: THE JOURNEY IS GROWING
May was filled with new opportunities, new partnerships, evangelism trainings, mission preparation, and countless Gospel conversations. It’s been exciting watching God continue opening doors through GoodNews Journey as we move forward with the vision of seeing 50K trained, 7K sent, and 100K saved. We’re incredibly thankful for everyone praying, giving, encouraging, and serving alongside us.
🎓 FBC CANTON BACCALAUREATE
One of the unique opportunities this month was speaking at a large Baccalaureate service hosted by First Baptist Church in Canton, Texas. The room was packed with graduates, family members, and friends as we challenged seniors to let their futures be driven by Jesus and His Cause. We talked about investing their lives in knowing Jesus and making Him known. It was an honor to be trusted with that moment, and we’re excited that the event also opened doors for conversations with that church about future mission partnerships with GoodNews Journey.
⛪ NEW HOPE BAPTIST – MUSKOGEE
This month we led an evangelism at New Hope Baptist Church in Muskogee. We walked through our CORE, GROW, and DEFEND trainings focused on Gospel strategy, discipleship multiplication, and responding confidently to tough questions about Christianity. Pastor Don Blankenship has been a longtime friend, and it was encouraging seeing the church so engaged and encouraged throughout the training. I also began a new coaching relationship with their youth pastor to help their ministry in the area of Gospel Advancing Ministry.
🌎 7TH & MAIN BAPTIST – BONHAM, TX
We also had the opportunity to equip around 50 mission trip participants at 7th & Main Baptist Church before they head to Honduras this summer. We focused on the Missionary Task and practical Gospel conversations through our GOODNEWS Training. One of the exciting parts of the trip was connecting with another church in that area that is interested in GoodNews Journey and future mission opportunities. It continues to be amazing watching how one connection often leads to another.
🔥 FBC LONE GROVE
We wrapped up the month with another evangelism training at FBC Lone Grove. We focused on practical Gospel strategy and Gospel confidence while helping people think through how to naturally engage people in spiritual conversations. It’s always encouraging hearing stories from churches that are actively trying to build a culture of evangelism.
🍽️ JUVENILE CENTER MINISTRY
Every week we continue spending time at the Juvenile Center teaching Scripture, answering questions, and sharing the Gospel with students. This month several teenage boys made decisions to place their faith in Christ. Many of these students are incredibly sincere, grateful, and hungry for truth. It’s powerful watching students realize they are not forgotten by God and that Jesus can completely change their future.
🤝 YOUTH MINISTRY NETWORKS + CONNECTIONS
This month also included participating in a Youth Ministry Network gathering with leaders in the Eastern Oklahoma Country area. These meetings are always encouraging because they allow us to collaborate on ministry events while also building relationships that create future opportunities for Gospel Advancing partnerships and training.
🎤 PREACHING + HOME CHURCH MINISTRY
This month included opportunities to preach three times at The Road @ Choctaw and once at The Road @ McLoud. Ministry at Choctaw Road continues to move forward in exciting ways as preparations are underway for Falls Creek, Camp Edge, Senior Trip, and a busy summer of student ministry. One of the most encouraging things right now is consistently seeing students place their faith in Christ on Wednesday nights. This part of the OKC metro area continues to be incredibly fertile ground for the Gospel.
🌍 MISSIONS + SUMMER PREPARATION
Summer mission preparation is officially in full swing. This month included multiple Zoom calls, conference calls, planning meetings, and logistics conversations with missionaries, ministry leaders, and GoodNews Journey coordinators as we prepare for teams to launch.
Candace continues doing an amazing job serving as our Ministry Support Coordinator. She has been busy handling flights, transportation logistics, communication, registrations, mission trip shirts, and so many of the behind-the-scenes details that help keep everything moving forward smoothly. Her hard work and organization are a huge blessing to GoodNews Journey, and we are incredibly thankful for all she does. She’s also been helping design and coordinate shirts for our mission teams and ministry events, so if you’d like one, let us know!
We also hosted a Gospel Advancing coaching call this month where we unpacked key lessons from the Energize Conference while also stopping to pray together for God to move powerfully through ministries this summer.
✈️ SUMMER MISSION TEAMS
Please be praying for upcoming mission trips this summer:
• Alaska 1 (June 9-16) – 17 team members
• Denver (June 20-27) – 15 team members
• Portugal 1 (July 10-20) – 16 team members
• Portugal 2 (July 21-28) – 13 team members
• Kenya, Africa (July 27-August 7) – 12 team members
• Alaska 2 (July 28-August 4) – 13 team members
• Guatemala (September 3-8) – TBD (probably 5-10 team members)
We’re also actively planning future projects in Mexico and Santa Cruz, California, one of the most spiritually lost cities in America. We truly believe God is just getting started, and we are excited to continue building and expanding these mission opportunities in the years ahead.
If you or your church would be interested in serving on a future mission trip, visit goodnewsjourney.org/missions and reach out to us!
🙏 PERSONAL + FAMILY MOMENTS
One especially meaningful opportunity this month was speaking at Aunt Helga’s funeral. It was a privilege to honor her life, encourage family members, and clearly share the hope of the Gospel with many relatives and friends.
🏕️ LOOKING AHEAD
As we move into June, we would especially appreciate prayer for two youth camps where Brian will be preaching this summer. The first is Summit Camp at Kiamichi Baptist Association in Talihina, Oklahoma (June 1-5), followed by Grand Lake Assembly in Grove, Oklahoma (June 22-26). Please pray for students to be saved, believers to be strengthened, and for long-term Gospel impact in the lives of students and leaders.

APRIL 2026

APRIL MINISTRY UPDATE: FAN THE FLAMES 🔥
April was packed with ministry opportunities, Gospel conversations, leadership connections, trainings, and mission planning. We’ve seen many people place their faith in Christ this month, and it’s been encouraging watching churches and individuals grow in boldness and obedience.
🍽️ JUVENILE CENTER MINISTRY
Every Monday and Wednesday during lunch, I continue spending time at the Juvenile Center teaching the Bible, answering questions, and having honest conversations with students about Jesus. This month several students made decisions to put their faith in Christ. It’s powerful watching students who feel forgotten realize that God sees them, loves them, and still has a purpose for their life.
🐋 GOOD NEWS CHURCH – CATOOSA
I had the opportunity to lead an evangelism training for a couple of churches together at Good News Church in Catoosa. We focused on Gospel Fluency, Gospel Strategy, and Gospel Mobilization before ending the night with an activation experience where people actually stepped into Gospel conversations. The churches were engaged, and it was exciting watching people move from fear to confidence throughout the evening.
⛪ CHISHOLM HEIGHTS BAPTIST
I was honored to speak for “Testimony Sunday” at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church in Mustang. I preached on Gospel Urgency to around 500 people during the morning service and later led an afternoon training for about 100 participants. Several people shared afterward that they immediately started Gospel conversations because of the training. Pastor Griff Henderson is a dear friend and is doing an outstanding job leading there.
🌾 FBC MOORELAND
At the end of the month, I led another evangelism training at FBC Mooreland. We spent time talking through practical ways to clearly communicate the Gospel and create a culture of evangelism within the church. One of my favorite parts was hearing stories from people who had already begun engaging lost friends and family members with greater intentionality.
🎒 CHRISTIAN HERITAGE ACADEMY
I also got to speak at the elementary chapel service at Christian Heritage Academy. I taught on what the Bible really means by “believe” and used a trust-fall illustration to help explain biblical faith. Jack was supposed to help me with the illustration, but he ended up being sick, so his friend Kasen stepped in and saved the day!
🔥 SOUTH TULSA BAPTIST
One of the most meaningful moments this month was returning to South Tulsa Baptist Church to share the story and vision behind GoodNews Journey. I preached from 2 Timothy 1:6 on “Fanning the Flames” and talked about how God calls us not just to start strong, but to stay faithful and continue stirring the fire He has already placed within us. We celebrated what God has done through GoodNews Journey so far, including more than 80 ministry events, 130+ messages preached, thousands trained in evangelism, and growing mission opportunities.
🤝 OKYM + KINGDOM CONNECTIONS
This month I participated in the OKYM Network gathering at Oklahoma Baptists. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with youth pastors and ministry leaders from across Oklahoma. I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside many of these leaders over the years, and it was encouraging talking about future partnerships, camps, and ministry opportunities.
🙏 OKC METRO PRAYER BREAKFAST
I also attended the OKC Metro Prayer Breakfast again this year. I walked away encouraged by the strong emphasis on prayer for our city and by seeing so many pastors, leaders, and Kingdom-minded people gathered together. There are so many people faithfully serving across Oklahoma, and it was refreshing to reconnect with many friends and ministry partners. The Lord has brought so many amazing people in to our lives and ministry.
⚡ ENERGIZE CONFERENCE
I attended the Energize Conference with Dare2Share Ministries this month. This ministry and conference has impacted me for years, and it was good reconnecting with leaders and friends who helped shape so much of my ministry philosophy. Candace was able to attend with me alongside Andrew and Rachel Riddle from Idabel. Dare2Share highlighted their ministry (VIDEO HERE) during the conference, which was especially meaningful because I’ve had the opportunity to invest in Andrew over the years and help introduce some of these Gospel Advancing concepts to him and his church.
🌎 MISSIONS + PREPARATION
We continue making major progress toward our upcoming mission trips. There have been lots of meetings, calls, planning sessions, and logistics conversations happening behind the scenes. Candace has been working incredibly hard managing communication, travel details, registrations, and preparation. She carries a big part of this ministry, and I’m so thankful for her. Right now it looks like we could have around 80–90 participants involved in our very first year of trips. What an exciting beginning! I also got to meet with missionary friends serving in the Amazon region of Brazil this month. Hearing what God is doing there was incredibly encouraging, and we even discussed the possibility of a future GoodNews Journey trip there someday. Let us know if you’re interested!
🎉 HOME CHURCH UPDATE
Easter Sunday at our home church (Choctaw Road) was incredible as around 3,800 people gathered across services to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. This month also marked the launch of a new satellite campus in McLoud, and we’ve already started a youth ministry there that is currently meeting once a month. It’s exciting seeing new ministry opportunities continue developing.
📅 LOOKING AHEAD
Summer ministry season is quickly approaching, and preparations are already underway for camps, mission trips, trainings, and speaking opportunities. I’m especially looking forward to upcoming opportunities as camp speaker at Kiamichi Baptist Association with Summit Camps and Grand Lake Assembly this summer. Please pray for students, leaders, salvations, and long-term Gospel impact.

MARCH 2026

🦋 MARCH MINISTRY UPDATE
March was full—lots of miles, meaningful conversations, and clear moments where we saw God at work.
🚗 FROM DNOW TO SUNDAY MORNING (NO SLEEP REQUIRED)
After finishing a DNOW at FBC Dewey late on Saturday night, I drove almost 8 hours through the night to First Baptist Church Snyder TX. Pulled in around 4:30am, slept a couple hours in the car, and jumped straight into a full day. I led a church-wide training on how to have Gospel conversations, preached on Gospel urgency during worship, and then wrapped up the day with a practical session + Q&A. We ended by challenging people to actually start a Gospel conversation right there on their phones—and many did. I also helped develop a 6-week evangelism track they’re continuing to use. They’ve already talked about bringing us back, which is always encouraging.
⛪ FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH – HOLLIS, OK
Had a great night with Faith Baptist Church in Hollis. We shared a meal, talked through Gospel urgency, and then walked step-by-step through a simple strategy for sharing your faith. It was a great group at the small church that really leaned in and wanted to grow.
🔒 TAKING THE GOSPEL TO STUDENTS IN HARD PLACES
Spent a lot of time this month investing in students walking through some really difficult seasons of life. We saw multiple young men respond to the Gospel and others take real steps forward spiritually at the Juvenile Center. These moments are a reminder that the message of Jesus meets people right where they are—and changes everything.
🤝 BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS THAT OPEN DOORS
Connected with mission leaders from across Oklahoma at the Advance Conference—great conversations that lead to future opportunities. Also spent time with youth leaders in the eastern OKC area. Networking and strengthening these relationships matter more than people realize.
📣 TENKILLER DNOW – “REACH”
Spoke in Cookson at the Tenkiller Baptist Association DNOW, centered on Matthew 28. We focused on: WHY we reach, WHAT the mission is, and WHO we’re becoming. Also spent time equipping leaders on building Gospel-advancing ministries. These weekends are always about more than the moment—they’re about momentum.
✈️ MISSIONS ARE COMING TOGETHER
There’s a lot happening behind the scenes right now. Flights are being secured, teams are forming, and details are locking into place. We’ve got projects lined up in Alaska (3), Portugal (2), Guatemala, Cambodia, and Denver. Several trips are already filling up, but there are still a few spots open on select teams. If you’ve been thinking about going, now’s the time. Check out our Mission Page!
🌍 TULSA MISSION PROJECT
I helped lead our churches mission team alongside Mobile Missions Network in Tulsa for a 6-day project with around 120 participants. We served in mobile home parks and apartment communities, saw people come to Christ, and had lots and lots of Gospel conversations. It was also a great opportunity to introduce more people on the project to GoodNews Journey and what we’re building.
⛪ CHURCH INSIDE OUT
Had the opportunity to preach at Church Inside Out during their Reunion Sunday at the Red Fork campus. We talked about identity in Christ and what it looks like to live from that identity daily. It was a powerful gathering.
🙏 NXT MOVE – DAY OF PRAYER
I was honored to be part of the NXT Move 24-hour global Day of Prayer I led a time focused on relational discipleship, joining leaders from around the world seeking God together. Really special moment to be part of.
🔓 PRISON
Closed out the month speaking to over 100 inmates at Great Plains Correctional Facility. We walked through Ephesians 4, 2 Corinthians 5, and Romans 7—focusing on leaving the old life behind and stepping into the new life Christ offers. Many responded to the Gospel, and several shared how much it impacted them.
📞 PARTNERS + PREPARATION
This month included a lot of calls, planning, and meetings with missionaries, teams, and ministry partners. Also spent time connecting with supporters—always a reminder that this mission is shared. Candace has been working hard behind the scenes managing logistics, communication, and travel. There’s a lot happening, and she’s carrying a huge part of it.
🎯 LOOKING AHEAD
I’ve been preparing for upcoming summer camps, including Kiamichi Baptist Association and Grand Lake Assembly. Already praying for what God is going to do. April is shaping up to be another full month.
❤️ JOIN THE MISSION

FEBRUARY 2026

🔥 FEBRUARY WAS FULL. SOULS SAVED. LEADERS EQUIPPED. TRIPS FILLING. GOD IS FANNING THE FLAMES. 🔥
Friends,
February carried real momentum. Not just busyness, but Kingdom impact. People were saved, baptized, and called to missions. Churches were trained. Leaders were mobilized. Mission teams are forming. Here’s what God did through GoodNews Journey this month:
🌍 MISSION TRIPS ARE FILLING
Airfare is being purchased. Teams are forming. Logistics are tightening. Most projects are filling quickly!
Our current planned projects includes:
· Three projects in Alaska
· Two in Portugal
· Trips to Guatemala, Cambodia, and a newly added project in Denver
Want to come to Alaska, Denver, or Guatemala? We still have spots available for:
· 🇬🇹 Guatemala (Sept 4–11)
· ❄️ Alaska (May 20–29)
· 🏙️ Denver (June 20–27)
Would you consider going? Or pass this along to someone in your church? Special invitation to GNJ friends: invite your church to prayerfully consider Guatemala. We would love to partner together.
We’ve also had multiple Zoom and phone calls with the Mobile Missions network strengthening partnership and finalizing logistics.
📞 COACHING & MULTIPLICATION
This month included in-person, online, and phone coaching helping leaders think through how to encourage early commitment instead of last-minute decisions.
One highlight was coaching a GNJ supporter’s daughter as she prepared to lead evangelism training for her youth group. She taught our CORE teaching called GOODNEWS. Hearing that multiplying was powerful.
📖 EVANGELISM TRAINING – COWETA
The Evangelism Training at Community Baptist Coweta was a strong success. Great crowd. High engagement. We covered Gospel Urgency, Gospel Strategy, Gospel Multiplication, Gospel Mobilization, and finished with an Activation Experience. Students and adults left equipped and ready to live it out.
🔥 DNOW – FBC POTTSVILLE, AR
We focused on IGNITING students for our King and His Cause. There was salvation and real inspiration to show and share faith. The church has already invited me back for an all-church evangelism training later this year. And yes, Lecrae gave me a name drop promoting the weekend. It was Cameo… I’m not saying we’re close, but it definitely sounded official.
💥 IMPACT WEEKEND
Impact Weekend gathered around 350 participants from about 10 churches in Eastern Oklahoma City at First Southern Del City. It was awesome having my new home church, Choctaw Road, not only participate but take a major leadership role in the weekend. That meant a lot personally. I led two apologetics breakouts, and it was powerful seeing churches united around gospel engagement.
🎤 EMPOWER CONFERENCE – IRVING, TX
I was invited by the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas to lead two breakouts at the Empower Conference in Irving. We covered overcoming fear in evangelism and gospel strategy. Leaders were encouraged, equipped, and strong connections were made.
🎓 CAMPUS MINISTRY GATHERING
I spoke at a campus ministry gathering from Luke 16 on the reality of hell and the urgency of knowing Jesus and making Him known. Students were challenged to take eternity seriously and live sent.
🔥 DNOW – FBC DEWEY
I closed the month at DNOW at FBC Dewey teaching on WHY Missions, WHAT Missions is, and the HOW/NOW of Missions. Students were challenged to see themselves as missionaries right where they are.
🙌 SALVATION & JUVENILE CENTER MINISTRY
We had several ministry days at the Juvenile Center, and many young men placed their faith in Christ. Watching hearts soften in that environment never gets old.
Across other events this month, students responded in salvation and some sensed a clear call to vocational ministry and missions. That kind of calling shapes decades.
🛠️ STRENGTHENING THE FOUNDATION
We held our 1st Quarter GNJ Board Meeting on February 6. Strong accountability. Clear direction. Healthy growth.
I’m incredibly thankful for Candace stepping into her role as GNJ’s Ministry Support Coordinator. Her work on administration and logistics has already made a huge difference. She’s settling in well and helping the ministry operate with clarity and structure as we grow.
🚀 THE VISION
Our bold vision before the end of 2030:
· 50K trained in evangelism
· 7K mobilized on mission
· 100K brought to faith in Christ
Spring and summer are packed with evangelism training, coaching leaders, DNOWs, conferences, camps, and mission trip mobilization. Please pray for endurance, clarity, open doors, and multiplied fruit.
Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for standing with GoodNews Journey.
If you believe in raising up a generation that shares the gospel boldly and clearly, would you prayerfully consider investing financially? Your partnership fuels training, mobilization, and eternal impact.

JANUARY 2026

🔥 January 2026 Update
FAN THE FLAMES
Spreading the Gospel Fire Farther and Faster
In 2025 GoodNews Journey Ignited the Mission with a powerful launch. In our very first year, together we saw 65 events, over 100 messages preached, around 15,000 people reached, 80 leaders coached, and 8 mission trips in development. God has been incredibly faithful, and none of this happens without you.
Now in 2026 we’re turning up the heat. Our theme for the year is FAN THE FLAMES—spreading the Gospel fire farther and faster. This year brings our first full round of 7–8 mission trips, expanded evangelism and leadership training, a growing team, and clearer systems that let the ministry multiply well beyond one person. As we press toward our 2030 vision—training 50,000 evangelists, mobilizing 7,000 on mission, and reaching 100,000 for Christ—we are more convinced than ever that the Gospel advances best when God’s people are equipped and sent.
January was full and fruitful. Here are some of the ways God moved this month:
🧔 Spoke on Gospel urgency and strategy at a men’s retreat at FBC Lone Grove
🔒 Preached at Great Plains Prison in Hinton, proclaiming freedom in Christ
❤️ Shared the Gospel at the Jesus House in downtown OKC
🕊️ Shared the Gospel at a funeral in Tulsa, pointing clearly to the hope of Christ in grief
⛪ Led evangelism training at Angus Church in Sand Springs
👥 Continued weekly evangelism ministry at the Juvenile Detention Center
📞 Coaching and training calls—including individual sessions with pastors and leaders, plus a group call with 23 participants focused on discipleship multiplication
🎙️ Podcast Conversation – Colby Rich had Brian on the Called to Lead podcast for an episode titled “Following God Through Open Doors”
🎓 Partnered in speaking at a campus club at Choctaw High School, challenging students to live on mission
📻 Worked with The House FM as they explore adopting a mission project; they’ve asked us to run a Spring radio campaign and another Holiday campaign in November/December
🧦 Partnered in serving in a homeless outreach, providing meals, clothing, and supplies while engaging in meaningful gospel conversations.
🌎 Zoom calls with missionaries and church planters in Alaska and Denver
🏙️ Helping launch a mission project alongside a brand-new church plant in Denver
🧭 Consulting with multiple churches on launching in-state, national, and international mission trips
🤝 Met with mission leaders across the OKC area to build partnerships
🧠 Networked at the Unshakable Worldview Conference at Oklahoma Christian University, connecting apologetics and evangelism
God keeps opening doors in churches, schools, prisons, media, and city streets—all with one aim: making Jesus known.
🌍 Want to Come to Guatemala or Portugal???
Mission projects are coming together fast—three in Alaska, two in Portugal, plus trips to Guatemala, Cambodia, and a newly added project in Denver. Most projects are filling quickly, but we still have room on our projects to Guatemala (Sept 4-11) and Portugal (July 10-20). Would YOU considered going, and/or pass along the info to people in your church? Reach out to us if there’s interest!
⛪ Choctaw Road Baptist Church
January also marked the start of my role as High School and Missions Pastor at Choctaw Road Baptist Church. This has already been a gift from the Lord—not a slowdown, but a strengthening. It brings more stability, deeper local roots, and daily access to students and leaders, while GoodNews Journey keeps moving forward at full speed.
With Candace now serving part-time as Ministry Support Coordinator, we’re sharing key administrative needs. This frees more time and energy for training, equipping, and Gospel-centered leadership. This season is about building healthy structure so the mission can expand, not shrink. The runway has gotten longer and stronger!
🚀 Looking Ahead
The next few months are packed with opportunities to keep fanning the flames—through evangelism training, coaching leaders, preaching at DNOWs and conferences, mobilizing mission trips, and hosting our first-ever OKC GoodNews Journey Gathering to cast vision and invite partners into the mission. Please pray for open doors, bold faith, and lasting fruit as the Gospel is shared and leaders are equipped across churches, campuses, and cities.
❤️ Thank You for Being on the Journey
None of this happens without you. Your prayers, encouragement, and generosity are helping people hear the Gospel, respond to Jesus, and be sent on mission.
If you’re able, would you consider partnering financially as we continue to fan the flames together? Give here: https://goodnewsjourney.org/give/
Thank you for believing in this mission! The fire is spreading—and God is at work!
With gratitude,
Brian and Candace Baldwin
DECEMBER 2025

🎄 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from GoodNews Journey!
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus our King, we want to pause and say THANK YOU. This season is about JOY, and we are overflowing with gratitude for how God has worked through us together in December and throughout all of 2025. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement continue to advance the Gospel in powerful ways.
⏰ A Quick Year-End Note
As 2025 comes to a close, year-end giving will end in just a few days. If GoodNews Journey has encouraged you this year, we invite you to prayerfully consider a year-end gift as you read this update. Everything below is possible because of faithful partners like you, and your generosity now helps us start 2026 strong.
🔥 December Ministry Highlights
Together, we saw God move in incredible ways this month. At Great Plains Correctional Facility in Hinton, over 100 inmates attended our evangelism service, and more than a dozen prayed to receive Christ. 🙌 God also moved powerfully through our Juvenile Center ministry, where around 10 students prayed to receive Christ this month alone. 💥
We equipped believers at FBC Anadarko through a two-session Evangelism Training focused on Gospel Urgency and Gospel Fluency, helping followers of Jesus share their faith with confidence. At FBC Davenport, we preached to a Sunday morning crowd of about 300, calling the church to share the Gospel, followed by a GOODNEWS evangelism training after lunch to equip them to live it out.
At Community Baptist Church in Coweta, we preached in both the 9am and 11am services (300+ in each), teaching from Isaiah 12 on finding the true source of JOY during Christmas, followed by a networking lunch with potential ministry partners.
🤝 Leadership, Coaching & Network Impact
December was also filled with Gospel-advancing conversations. We connected with leaders through the Eastern OKC Area Youth Ministers Network, celebrated with the UNITE OKC Christmas party, and hosted multiple coaching calls with pastors and ministry leaders focused on Bold Vision, discipleship multiplication, and missions strategy. We are grateful for meaningful meetings and conversations with current and potential partners as we look toward the year ahead.
🎙️ Media & Digital Reach
Throughout December, we were on The House FM radio three times a day, every weekday, equipping listeners to share Christ during the Christmas season. It has been encouraging to hear how many of you noticed and shared those spots. We also posted video clips from the radio segments on the GNJ Facebook page, extending the reach even further.
🌍🏕️ Missions and Camp Momentum
We continued promoting and planning upcoming GoodNews Journey mission trips, including ongoing calls with Alaska church leaders, missionaries, and catalysts to expand summer opportunities. We also connected with campus ministry leaders and mission partners via Zoom and confirmed speaking roles at Grand Lake Assemblies Camp (Grove) and Summit Camp at KBA (Talihina) this summer.
We also sent our VERY FIRST GoodNews Journey Christmas cards to supporters and donors this month. 💌 What a meaningful milestone for our ministry family.
📊 Year-One Praise Report (ALL GLORY TO GOD!)
In just the FIRST YEAR of GoodNews Journey, together we’ve seen:
65 events | 100+ messages preached | ~15,000 people reached | 80 leaders coached | 8 mission trips in development
God is SO GOOD. Truly, none of this would be possible without YOU. 🙏
🏡 A New Door God Has Opened
As GoodNews Journey grows, God has opened a door for Brian to serve as High School and Missions Pastor at Choctaw Road Baptist Church, beginning in January. This role strengthens our foundation so we can GO FURTHER, TRAIN DEEPER, and SEND BOLDER. Candace will also join part-time as Ministry Support Coordinator, handling key administrative needs so we can stay focused on equipping leaders and sharing the Gospel. This next step allows us to serve locally and globally with greater stability and reach. Your partnership ensures that every prayer, volunteer hour, and dollar advances the mission even more effectively.
💌 YEAR-END GIVING OPPORTUNITY (TIME SENSITIVE)
As 2025 COMES TO A CLOSE, we invite you to prayerfully consider a year-end gift to GoodNews Journey. With only DAYS left in the year, your generosity right now helps us step into January ready to train more believers, mobilize more people on mission, and reach more souls with the Good News.
👉 Give here: https://goodnewsjourney.org/give
Gifts must be received by December 31 to count for 2025.
Case for Support Packet
Through our partnership with WatersEdge, donors can now give in creative ways, including stock, charitable rollovers, endowments, and donor-advised funds. Most supporters give one-time or monthly online, and every gift, no matter the form, fuels Gospel impact.
🚀 Looking Ahead
We are praying for you as you finish the year strong. Thank you for being part of this story. We truly could not do this without you. As we look toward 2026, we remain committed to our 2030 Vision:
50,000 trained | 7,000 sent | 100,000 reached for Christ
Let’s step into the new year FULL OF FAITH, READY TO OBEY, and EAGER TO ADVANCE THE GOSPEL TOGETHER.
For our King and His Cause,
Brian & Candace Baldwin
NOVEMBER 2025

GoodNews Journey – November Ministry Report
We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are so thankful for you and for everyone who prays, gives, and fuels this ministry.
As 2025 comes to a close, would you prayerfully consider a year-end gift to help us launch strong into 2026? Your generosity will help us expand missions, train more leaders, and reach more people with the Gospel!
We are continuing to develop strategic plans to bring sustainability and longevity to GNJ as we pursue our bold 2030 Vision:
50,000 trained in evangelism
7,000 mobilized on mission
100,000 reached for Christ 🙌
🌎 Mission Trip Momentum – Alaska, Portugal, Guatemala, Cambodia
This month, we completed the second half of our Alaska Project Prep Trip, laying the groundwork for 3–4 GNJ teams to serve in rural Alaska next summer. 3 dear ministry friends and myself spent long days traveling around Eastern Alaska meeting with pastors, missionaries, church planters, and local leaders. We confirmed housing, mapped routes, planned youth and village outreach opportunities, coordinated with churches, and strengthened partnerships with key leaders and developed even more partners along the way.
These preparations ensure that our teams—and the communities we serve—will experience lasting impact in 2026.
We are also moving forward with mission projects in Portugal, Guatemala, and Cambodia, laying the foundation for new opportunities to serve.
You’re invited!
Would you pray about joining a GNJ mission trip, or sending students, adults, or a group from your church? Together, we can see God’s work advance around the world.
🔥 South Carolina – State Convention Annual Meeting
We were honored to partner with the South Carolina Baptist Convention during their annual meeting focused on Next Gen Ministries. Their theme this year was missions and evangelism.
We led a breakout on Gospel Strategy, another on Gospel Philosophy, and finished the day on a panel during the main session. It was a joy to equip leaders with practical, field-tested tools to carry the Gospel in their communities.
🎣 Texas – FBC Denison Men’s Retreat
We joined leaders at the Men’s Retreat to teach on becoming Fishers of Men. One young man prayed to receive Christ, and the men were inspired and challenged to engage fully in the mission of Jesus.
🎙️ Media & Mobilization – The House FM + Mobile Missions
November was a big month for spreading the Gospel through media and mobilization!
• Recorded multiple evangelism radio spots with The House FM
• Built a landing page on the GNJ website for all the radio spots and training videos
• Filmed video versions and uploaded them to YouTube
• Spots launched Nov 17, airing three times daily (8:30am, 12:30pm, 4:30pm)
• A texting campaign sends listeners daily video devotionals
• Social media posts and stories are helping the message reach thousands
We also filmed a Mission Promo Video with Mobile Missions to encourage people to sign up for mission trips in 2026.

🙌 Juvenile Ministry – Oklahoma
We led several Juvenile Ministry Sessions, and many students indicated they were putting their faith in Christ. It is amazing to see God move powerfully among teens who are searching for hope.
📞 GNJ Coaching & Support
Throughout November, we continued coaching calls, texts, emails, and ministry support with leaders across multiple states. These ongoing partnerships are helping churches and leaders multiply the Gospel in their communities.
💌 Year-End Opportunity
Every story above is possible because of our partnership with you through prayer, encouragement, and financial support.
As the year ends, would you consider a year-end gift or becoming a monthly partner to help fuel the mission into 2026? Together, we can train more, mobilize more, and reach more people with the Good News! Through our new partnership with WatersEdge, GNJ donors can now give in creative ways — including stock, charitable rollovers, endowments, and even single charity funds for streamlined generosity. Most supporters continue to give one-time or monthly gift on our website, and every prayer and gift — no matter the form — fuels more souls being saved and believers being sent.
We are praying for you as you finish the year. Thank you for partnering with us to take the Gospel further and faster than ever! 🚀🙏

SEPTEMBER 2025

📣 SEPTEMBER 2025 UPDATE
This past month has overflowed with opportunities to inspire the lost to be saved — and the saved to be sent. From Edmond to OKC, Enid to Tulsa, Wynnewood to Cordell, Porum to Putnam City — and far beyond… the Lord opened doors for GoodNews Journey to proclaim the Gospel and equip believers to share it boldly!
✝️ Evangelism & Gospel Proclamation
The highlight was UNITE OKC at Bricktown Ballpark, where around 6,000 people gathered for worship and the Gospel. I trained and organized a Decision Team of 120 volunteers, who guided attendees through spiritual commitments. The Lord moved powerfully, and many lives were transformed!
I also led seven evangelism sessions at the Juvenile Center, where lots of young people placed their faith in Christ.
🛠️ Training & Equipping Believers
Alongside preaching, I trained and challenged believers at PCBC, Garland Road Baptist, First Baptist Wynnewood, the Energize Conference, and the Big God, Little Church Conference. I focused on Gospel –> Urgency, Fluency, Strategy, Mobilization, and Philosophy, encouraging believers to be equipped and unleashed for ministry. Two in-person Decision Team trainings at Olivet Baptist (OKC) prepared volunteers for UNITE’s incredible ministry.
🗺️ Statewide & Expanding Reach
September stretched GNJ across Oklahoma and connected us beyond the state. Conversations with the Georgia Baptist Mission Board may have opened doors for future partnerships, and Zoom planning with Alaska missionaries and church planters set the stage for our 2026 mission trip, with a prep trip in October. With Alaska added, our 2026 lineup now includes Alaska, Guatemala, Portugal, and Cambodia. Want to come with us?!?! Learn more HERE. Seriously… Reach out to us for questions!
👩👩👧 Youth & Next Generation Engagement
Mobilizing the next generation was a heartbeat this month through events like the See You At The Pole Rally, Truth Rising at Oklahoma Christian University, and Juvenile Center ministry. Our GNJ coaching call with Rick Eubanks, founder of SYATP, reminded us of the importance of rallying a generation to prayer and mission.
🤝 Strategic Partnerships & Vision Casting
The bold vision remains: 50,000 Trained • 7,000 Sent • 100,000 Saved. Thousands are being inspired, equipped, and unleashed through preaching, training, and Gospel proclamation.
🙏 Gratitude & Support
Thank you for praying, giving, and standing with us. The ripple effect is growing! As year-end giving approaches, please keep GNJ in mind!
Serving with you,
Brian Baldwin
AUGUST 2025

🌟 GoodNews Journey: AUGUST UPDATE
This summer has been full of Gospel opportunities, unexpected twists, and God’s grace at work!
📻 Exciting News!
GNJ was invited to lead an evangelism radio campaign on The House FM called “Share the Gift of Christ this Christmas.” For about 40 days in a row, we’ll be on air sharing 30 evangelism tips, posting that content on The House FM and GNJ social media reels, and joining 3 morning show interviews—equipping thousands to talk about Jesus this Christmas! They start airing on Nov 17, so stay tuned… literally! We’re praying this can be used at other radio stations.
🎤 Speaking & Training
This month we had the privilege of being in several churches and ministry settings. At Capitol Hill Baptist Church (OKC) we taught Equip Classes 3–5, covering When to Have Gospel Conversations, 4-Chair Discipleship as a clear pathway for multiplying disciple-makers, and how to understand and engage other worldviews. At Edmond Community Church we preached on the importance of evangelism and trained in Sharing Your Story. At South Tulsa Baptist (YEC Tulsa) we joined in the event and outreach and led an Apologetics Training on answering 9 common objections to Christianity. At FBC McAlester we spoke for their Back-to-School event that inspired students and families to live on mission. At FBC Hulbert we preached and trained in evangelism, teaching on Gospel Urgency and the GOODNEWS Gospel Conversation Strategy. Being with people and in places like these this month has been such a blessing!
👥 Coaching & Leaders
We gathered 18 ministry leaders from five states for a group coaching call, along with several one-on-one sessions. Together we unpacked insights from the Gospel Advancing Insider Report, the three key ingredients transforming youth ministries, and practical ways to live out the seven values and five stages of a Gospel Advancing Ministry. These coaching times are sharpening leaders and fueling Gospel-centered movements nationwide.
🙏 Evangelism Ministry
We led seven sessions at the OKC Juvenile Center—and at nearly every one, young men came to faith in Christ! Every person that says yes to Jesus, and yes to sharing Jesus, reminds us why this ministry exists—to inspire, equip, and mobilize God’s people to share the Good News.
🤝 Networking for Gospel Movements
God opened new doors for collaboration this month. We partnered with leaders in OKC through The Hope Gathering, joined the NXT Move North America call to strategize on reversing the decline of Christianity, and connected with pastors and ministry leaders to strengthen Gospel movements both locally and nationally.
⚾ UNITE 25 Update
Momentum is building for the outreach at Bricktown Ballpark on September 28. Over 100 volunteers have signed up for the Decision Team, but we need 100 more. Would you consider joining us? We’ll train you, and you’ll be part of seeing many hear and respond to the Gospel.
🌐 New Tools & Content
We launched the official GNJ Facebook Page—filled with blogs, videos, and equipping content. Please take a moment to follow, like, comment, and share our page—it really helps the ministry! The resources on it are designed to help spark a movement of everyday evangelism.
✈️ Missions
We met with Trinity Baptist Church in OKC about hosting a GNJ in-state project serving a low-income apartment complex. More details are coming soon. Meanwhile, we continue preparing for GNJ mission trips to Guatemala, Portugal, and Cambodia in 2026.
🏠 Family Update
We tried a quick getaway before school, but Jonah needed an emergency appendectomy in Houston. Praise God he’s recovering well! Mackenzie also started college at SNU, and while we’re excited for her new season, Candace especially feels the change of not having all four kids at home. And after months in the shop, Mackenzie’s car is finally running again! First time since December! It’s a very meaningful victory in a family of six!
📣 The Bold Vision
50K Trained | 7K Sent | 100K Saved by 2030. At our third-quarter GNJ Board Meeting, we celebrated progress and prayed toward this vision. This season has been about helping believers know when to share, how to share, what to say, and how to engage others with confidence. From classrooms to pulpits, blogs to radio, coaching calls to jail ministry—the Gospel is advancing! Thank you for praying, giving, and encouraging us. Together we are seeing the Good News spread! 💙
