đŁ My Greatest Evangelistic Fishing Spot!Â
A while back, I found myself a year into full-time youth ministryâand deeply convicted. Why? I realized I was spending almost all my time around Christians. That wasnât always the case. Before ministry, I worked at OKC Freightliner, surrounded by diesel mechanics and real spiritual lostness. But now, my âas you goâ evangelism activity wasnât cutting it. I needed a fresh fishing hole. đ
So I prayed a simple but dangerous prayer: “Lord, give me an evangelism fishing spot.”
And He did.
For the past 15 years, that spot has been Juvenile Detention Centers and Jails. Usually twice a week, I walk in, open the Word, and share hope with people at the bottom. Today, I led a 16-year-old to Christ. đđź And heâs one of hundredsâmaybe even thousandsâwhoâve responded over the years.
Hereâs the truth: When people are at rock bottom, theyâre often most open to the Gospel.
I call this kind of outreach âGo and Tell.â Itâs different from âAs You Goâ or âCome and Seeâ (we cover those in different blogs). This is intentional, targeted evangelism. Itâs putting yourself in a place where lost people areâand sharing the Good News with boldness.
It might be across the globe đ⌠or across your town. It could be a prison, school club, homeless ministry, or sports camp. But âGo and Tellâ moments donât happen by accident. They happen when you step into the places where darkness still reignsâand shine the light. đĄ
So hereâs the challenge: đ Do you have a âGo and Tellâ place in your life? đ If not, ask God to give you one. He will.
You donât have to wait for a mission trip to live on mission.
Just say yes. Show up. Share Jesus.
đLet me know in the commentsâwhatâs your fishing spot? Or if you need ideas, Iâd love to help you find one!
