The Greatest News You’ll Ever Share

What makes something worth running a marathon to tell? In ancient times, that’s exactly what messengers did. After a battle, runners would be dispatched to deliver one critical message: victory or defeat. That’s where the phrase “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news” comes from—because when the news is life-changing, those who carry it are blessed.

And we carry the greatest news ever told.

This is the heart of evangelism. The word itself, evangelism, has “angel” right in the middle, and an angel always has a message from God. Let the word be a reminder that it’s about delivering God’s message. The gospel literally means good news, and what news could be better than this?

Your sins—completely forgiven.
Your soul—eternally secure.
Your identity—changed forever.

Let me put it this way: if someone offered you a million dollars for one of your eyes, would you take it? Most wouldn’t, because our eyes are precious. But they’re just the windows of your soul. Imagine how much more valuable your soul is that look through your eyes—the eternal part of you that God came to save.

The gospel is not just a set of beliefs. It’s a victory announcement!
It’s the news that Jesus paid our penalty, erased the problem of our sin, and opened the door for us to enter God’s presence. But it gets even better. Through Christ, we’re not just forgiven criminals—we’re adopted sons and daughters of the King.

And there’s more:
We’ve been given a purpose.
We’re commissioned to take this message to others.
And most miraculously, God’s Holy Spirit makes His home in us!

This is why the gospel is good news—not just for a moment, but for eternity. And if you’re a believer, you’ve been entrusted to share it.

But how do we share this kind of news with excellence?

That’s what the GoodNews Journey is all about. This article is based on Session 4 of 13 of the GOODNEWS training series, designed to help everyday believers become excellent at evangelism. We’re here to equip you, encourage you, and walk with you as you become fluent in the gospel message.

It’s time to lace up your shoes and run—not with fear, but with confidence in the message you carry.
